Tonight, my wife and I are making stir fry with spaghetti squash instead of spaghetti noodles. Why? Because we have decided to weed out carbohydrates from our meals.

A couple years ago, our reasoning would have been based in guilt. “We aren’t happy with our bodies.” “We feel fat.” “The Bible tells us to take care of our bodies, and science claims carbs are bad, so we shouldn’t eat such foods.”

But recently, we have come to the understanding that God is not commanding us to eat healthy, and that we won’t let Him down if we don’t. But instead God has freed us to eat healthy, because He loves us and wants us to have better lives.

Why are we eating spaghetti squash tonight? Because we enjoy it, and we want to make healthier choices.

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. – Galations 5:1

As God’s child, you are free to make choices that lead you into a better life.

Have a great week,
